Mr. Mohammad Shahajahan FCS CPFA is a member of Bangladesh Civil Service (Audit & Accounts Cadre) comes from Lakshmipur. He belongs to 24th Batch of BCS (Audit &Accounts) and joined in public service in July, 2005. He worked in different capacities of Audit & Accounts Department and in lien for 5 years as Financial Management Specialist. Before joining Bangladesh Civil Service he served for 2 private colleges in Dhaka as Lecturer in Accounting.
He did his Honors’ and Masters in Accounting from Jagannath College under National University. He did his M.Sc in Development Management (Public Economic Management & Finance) from International Development Department (IDD), University of Birmingham, UK with the scholarship of the World Bank administered DMTBF Project. He successfully completed many training courses in Bangladesh including FEEM Course, Performance, Compliance, IT and Financial Audit Courses, ToT, eGP, Procurement, e-nothi/D-nothi, PMIS, iBAS++, PMAP, etc. He contributed to develop PMIS and Web Based Accounting & Reporting System Software of NATP-2 Project. He also worked in projects of Audit Department like FMRP, SCOPE and SPEMP-B. He has good insights in Public Debts Management Audit (PDMA) as he was Team Leader of PDMA team of Bangladesh with assistance of United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITER) and INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI). He also delivered training on Public Debt Management Audit in FIMA as lead trainer.
He is member of 4 professional bodies at home and abroad- a) Fellow Member (FCS) of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB); b) Full Member (CPFA) of The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA), UK; c) Member (CFC) of The Institute Financial Consultants (IFC), USA; and d) Member of The Institute of Internal Auditors Bangladesh (IIAB).
He drafted OCAG’s ‘Strategy Paper on Improving Responsiveness to Audit Observations’. He was editor of the Corporate Professional Journal “The Chartered Secretary” of ICSB from 2019 to 2022. He was editor of 4 Souvenirs published by 24th BCS Forum and performing his responsibility in 24th BCS Forum as Literature & Publication Secretary and Education & Research Secretary. He has more than 40 publications (including 4 international publications) published in famous Journal/ Magazine of Korean Development Initiative (KDI), Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). He is author of “Accounting Comprehensive”- a book for M.Com students under National University. He is a Life Member of Bangladesh Accounting Association (BAA) and also Life Member of Lakshmipur Zila Samiti. He married to Mrs. Ayesha Sultana who is a banker and they have two children named Shah Mohammad Abrar (Ahnaf) and Sharleez Shahrin (Shyaan).
